<TLE> Hey. Is there anybody in here with a non-english and non-danish installation of edgy who can help me figure out the extend of a l10n bug ?
<Mirv> TLE: tell us
<Mirv> I'm using Finnish edgy
<TLE> cool
<TLE> it has to do with a program headline that isn't formatted like it is supposed to. It's like this in th Danish version, I've checked and it's not there in the english, so now I'm trying to figure out if it is only in the dansih translation or if has something to do with the locaization code
<TLE> if you open up the software sources app
<TLE> and go to the third tab, it should be named something like "third party"
<TLE> and then press the add button
<TLE> the a dialog appears, the text in this dialog, headline and explanation, does it look like it is supposed to ?
<TLE> or does it have fomatting tags like
<TLE> <big><b> in it
<TLE> Mirv: ^^
<Mirv> TLE: looks like it's supposed to. probably the Danish translation has some typo in it which prevents the tags being hidden (eg. the closing tags have missing / in them or something else)
<TLE> ok cool thanks. There seem to be the right starting and ending tags but do you know is the order of them would be enough to course this problem. I just noticed that it contain the tags like this <big><b> </big></b>
<TLE> Mirv: ^^
<Mirv> TLE: it could.. you have to close the <b> first before closing <big>
<TLE> Mirv: yeah I thought so. Well thanks a lot
<Mirv> TLE: I think I had a similar problem once, too, caused by just that
<TLE> Mirv: yeah I hope the translator will be able to fix, it doesn't look that nice
<Mirv> TLE: have you contacted the Danish translators? anyone on the Ubuntu Danish translation team can correct it
<Mirv> then it'll be included in 6.10 updates at some point
<Mirv> ok there seems to be only four of those: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-da/+members
<TLE> yeah, we tranlate as much as we can upstream to enable it to benefit other distributins as well. But it should be an easy fix so they should be able to manage it
<TLE> yes I have contacted them
<Mirv> yes, we do as well most of the stuff upstream, already because rosetta is so lacking in quality control. but update-manager and a few other "ubuntu-specific" translations are done in rosetta currently
