<mdke> smurf: saw your changes on the hosting page; there is quite a cool way of spam protecting email addresses on the wiki so that only logged in users see them linked; see my changes.

<dinda> elkbuntu - you awake?
<elkbuntu> dinda, mostly
<elkbuntu> 'sup?
<dinda> okay, now I can't even find the "getting approved" page on the wiki
<elkbuntu> bookmark https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamKnowledgeBase for quicker referencing later on ;)
<dinda> I think we have all the pieces in place, now it says to send Jono an email for review of our stuff
<dinda> except I think we have some wiki problems. . .it seems as though the UW has its own wiki separate from the main wiki
<dinda> we have been discussing how to migrate the UW wiki over to the main one
<elkbuntu> jono, ping? want to weigh in on this?
<elkbuntu> or more to the point, do you want to do this, or would you like me to work with the girls?
<dinda> well, we've been discussing it in IRC but no real resolution yet
<dinda> I think it just makes sense b/c having a separate wiki means our info can't be found when one searches the main ubuntu wiki
<dinda> other than that issue, I think we have all the required pieces in order, just need to document on the main wiki
<elkbuntu> well, in this situation, you would construct a 'portal' to the other wiki from this one. make one nice big page that has most of the key items, and relevent linkage
<dinda> I think there's too much duplication by keeping two wikis
<elkbuntu> how else are people going to get from the main to the u-w one?
<dinda> I've made some pages on the main wiki and then sometimes others use the UW wiki - so kind of hard to keep coordinated
<dinda> we (me particularly) want to move the UW wiki info/pages to the main wiki
<dinda> get rid of the separate one on the UW site and just link into the main Ubuntu wiki
<elkbuntu> or you could decide which will be the u-w official, and if it is decided it is on the u-w one, make sure it is adequately documented as such with plenty of keywords (the key items i mentioned) on the main wiki so that searches pull a result. it needs only be keywords, not entire content
<dinda> doesn't that seem like duplicate work if we try to keep two wikis?
<dinda> I guess we could also ask Elmo how the structure is setup to see if it can be done behind the scenes
<elkbuntu> one page of keywords and their links on the main and all content on the u-w isnt duplication, it's documenting the second wiki on the first, is all
<dinda> make the wikis 'talk' to each other
<elkbuntu> should be doable, since it is done with ku and edu, iirc
<dinda> that might be easier, let the technology work for us
<dinda> now to find elmo's contact info. . .
