<Gargoyle> Morning
<GazzaK> morning Gargoyle
<Gargoyle> Some major lag in here! ;)
<Gargoyle> Working from home today. Makes it very easy to avoid doing any real work! :)
<Gargoyle> Just going to attempt to rebuild XChat aqua... damn lazy developer still hasn't made a universal version.
<Gargoyle> :-)
<GazzaK> major lag, nah, just me taking ages to reply :p
<Gargoyle> he he
<GazzaK> whats xchat aqua?
<Gargoyle> MacOS X version of xchat
<GazzaK> ahhh
<GazzaK> :-( I wanna get MacOSX on my home pc
<Gargoyle> Buy a Mac then! :)
<GazzaK> I would, but not got the spare £££'s at the mo
<GazzaK> morning chrisbudden14 how are you? sober? :-)
<chrisbudden14> hiii
<Gargoyle> hello
<chrisbudden14> sober ish Gargoyle
<chrisbudden14> oops
<chrisbudden14> GazzaK,
<GazzaK> not that sober then :p
<Gargoyle> lol
<popey> morning all chaps
<Gargoyle> hello popey
* GazzaK wishes he was still a student :p
* popey wishes he had more time
<popey> for coding
<popey> i was given a manky old 1GHz celeron laptop with a busted cdrom drive and no battery
<chrisbudden14> lol
<chrisbudden14> ive got nothing to do today
<chrisbudden14> so im just lazing around in bed
<popey> swapped cdrom out of another machine and bought a battery off ebay
<popey> now I can work on the train \o/
<popey> well "work"
<popey> also it now sports an ubuntu sticker :D
<popey> and I am really loving suspend
<GazzaK> ubuntu stickers are cool, I got a load from Jenda
<popey> never really used it before
<popey> I have the ones on the outside of the laptop and the little "powered by ubuntu" ones too
<popey> got a couple of funny looks on the train
<popey> nobody talks to me though because I have my mp3 player on, playing coding music :)
<GazzaK> lol
<gord> my computer isn't powered by ubuntu, its powered by the souls of dieing puppys that i put to work in the acid mines to fuel my volcano hideout
<GazzaK> puppies, awwww
<popey> oh my work laptop is powered by evil, sure
<popey> but that stays at work :)
<popey> and I'm loving glade screen designing
<popey> glade-3 especially so
<gord> i don't trust glade 3, it made for a fustrating episode of me remotly trying to figure out why someones pygtk program wasn't working
<popey> erk, really?
<popey> i only installed it yesterday, do you think I should stick to glade-2?
<gord> i wouldn't know to be honist. i do all my gtk stuff with glade 2, it does everything i want and does it rather well so im not bothering going on the hike of new fronters that is the "new program" until someone shows why i should or i get bored on day
<popey> fair comment
<gord> if you use glade3 now and it works fine i don't see any problems with continuing it
<popey> well I am still in the early stages of screen design
<popey> no code written, but if what your saying is that there may be issues interfacing my screens to python..?
<gord> well all i can say was that this certain other person (i forget who) was just starting off learning pygtk and glade and it turned out that the prolem he was having was that the python glade library couldn't understand the new glade file format
<popey> thanks for that
<chrisbudden14> anyone got linux format this month?
<popey> chrisbudden14: what cover - I have a copy at home but can't remember which month
<chrisbudden14> the one with an article about compiz in
<chrisbudden14> written by someone on here
<X3N> is our site working ok for everyone ?
* grimace loox
<grimace> hmmm...
<grimace> waiting...
<grimace> nothing coming up.
<grifferz> which site?
<X3N> http://www.ubuntu-uk.org
<X3N> i've got an ssh connection to the server fine
<X3N> might use a different ip for that connection though
<X3N> hmm no it's the same one as far as i can see
<grifferz> http daemons accepts the connection but doesn't give any data back
<grifferz> -s
<X3N> hmm
<X3N> ah well, it's not like i have enough access to fix it anyway
<grimace> bedtime :)
<grimace> 'night all
<dsas> X3N: I believe matthias ulrichs said something about the server may be on the way out
