<WaterSevenUb> iGama, hi
<iGama> let me go to the dev channel and ask what we have to do
<WaterSevenUb> iGama, I think doko is your guy.
<WaterSevenUb> carlos, there are translations for Openoffice 2.0.3 in Portuguese (Portugal), available in the upstream project, that are not available in Edgy. Can we do something through Rosetta?
<WaterSevenUb> carlos, or should we file a bug and assign it to doko or something like that? There are also dictionaries available in Portuguese for OO.
<carlos> WaterSevenUb: if the official 2.0.3 release included it, it should appear in Rosetta
<WaterSevenUb> carlos, I don't understand how openoffice upstream now works.... the thing is that the official portuguese page in openoffice links to an external website of a portuguese government initiative, which has the translated stuff. Perhaps they don't commit things back up to openoffice CVS and in that case does not appear in Rosetta?
<carlos> it's not about CVS commits
<carlos> but about released tarballs
<carlos> If the 2.0.3 tarball was released without those translations, Rosetta will not get them
<carlos> WaterSevenUb: you should talk with doko to include them inside Ubuntu packages (the binaries need some changes to get a new language, it's not just Rosetta)
<carlos> as soon as that's done, Rosetta will get it automatically
<WaterSevenUb> carlos, thank you carlos.
<carlos> you are welcome
<carlos> WaterSevenUb: once we finish the native support for OpenOffice I guess this process would be faster, but atm we need to get it from Ubuntu package
